What I really need to live comfortably after living without any household items for three months.

After having moved to this current location, I came with only the items that would fit in my one suitcase and in my backpack.  I have bought a hammock to try to sleep in as opposed on the floor, and I am having mixed feelings about the comfort on a regular basis.  It can be a bit hard on the shoulder blades.

I have chosen to buy a wooden bowl, plate, coffee cup, and a set of wooden travel utensils that included a straw, a pot and spoon to cook with.

Lessons that I have been learning while living on a tropical island in the south pacific.

Everything is expensive because almost everything has to be imported.

It can be very hot and humid, hang drying certain fabrics can take days and that is if you bring it inside when you can’t bring it in when it randomly decides to start to rain.  Otherwise be sure to hang out in the direct sun and keep an eye out for a random cloud dump. It rains at least once pretty much every day and often it can be like dumping a bucket of water out on your head.

It is very challenging to be a vegetarian or vegan and go out to eat when everyone loves bar-b-que and canned meats.

“Island Time” is a thing.  Which seems to mean that you will show up eventually.

Trying to stay cool, so far the best two options I have found into wear as little as you feel comfortable, very breathable clothes such as linen, and lots of sunblock.  After three months I am almost out of my first bottle of sunblock and I still forget some days and don’t wear sunblock during the week for my day job.  I currently use SPF 50 and am pretty sure I am still getting a tan.
